From a multidisciplinary point of view this Master is aimed at giving the students a broad and deep knowledge on the most relevant topics related with the professional and scientific fields of the Biology and Technology of Mammals’ Reproduction (including Humans)
The quality of teaching is a major concern which is achieved by the participation of a broad and selected list of university professors and scientists, who not only include lecturers and professors from the University of Murcia, but also from other universities around the world, as well as from private companies. Besides, the teaching rooms and the laboratories contain modern equipments for a comprehensive teaching in a comfortable ambience with full access to ICT technologies. Most of the teaching sessions happen at the Veterinary Faculty, although students are occasionally called at the Medicine Faculty and the Veterinary Farm.
The official Master languages are Spanish and English.
The Master content is organized in 16 formative subjects, 6 compulsory and 10 optional, plus a Practicum and a Master Thesis. In the formative subjects the hours devoted to theory and practices are well balanced, while the quality of the practices accomplishes the highest standards. The so called Practicum (12 credits ECTS) is commonly carried out in an external center which is selected by the student from a list of academic, scientific or private institutions not only from Spain but from several European and Asian countries.
It is important to highlight that students design their own professional profile according to their preferences and expectations. This is well addressed by the selection of the optional subjects, the place where the Practicum is implemented and the topic of the Master Thesis.
Students are requested to follow a highly demanding rhythm of work. During the winter semester Timetable occupies the morning and afternoon of every working day. During the summer semester timetable depends on selected subjects. The practices are commonly carried out in small groups, while the hours devoted to studying, revising and discussing are always closely supervised by the lecturers. Promoting students’ critical thinking is an essential goal which is mainly achieved through discussion of scientific papers, problem based learning and/or design of experimental works.
